Did you ever want to try glassblowing? Now we are inviting you to come and have a go! We are set to host an exclusive glassblowing workshop for Kilkenny FREE Day!

Can you beat the record and blow a bubble bigger than 34cm? This free event will take place on Saturday October 11th, from 1 pm to 3 pm. The ‘Blow a Glass Bubble’ workshop will be facilitated by Master Glassblower Rory Leadbetter and is suitable for both adults and children.

The event is free but booking is essential! Call 056 7724350 to reserve your place today.

Rory Leadbetter will guide those taking part through the ancient, 2,000-year-old art of glass blowing. Each participant will get the chance to learn some of the techniques that go into creating a piece of handcrafted glass and challenge them to beat the current record for the biggest sphere!

Rory will lead the participants through the techniques involved in taking a gather from the furnace, controlling the blowing iron and blowing a glass bubble. Each ‘Blow a Glass Bubble’ session will last between 10 and 15 minutes and is free of charge along with a host of events throughout the County on Kilkenny FREE Day!

Book your Blow a Glass Bubble workshop on October 11th 2014 by calling Jerpoint Glass on 056 7724350

Please note that bubbles are not available to take home. Visitors are always welcome at Jerpoint Glass to come and view the craftsmen as they blow balance and manipulate the flowing red hot molten glass. A most exciting spectacle!
