On a recent visit to Co, Kilkenny, President of Ireland, Michael D. Higgins was presented with a piece of Jerpoint Glass as a gift from St Mary’s National School.

The President visited the county on a number of official engagements including the unveiling of the “Per Cent for Art” sculpture at St. Mary’s National School in Thomastown.  The sculpture entitled ‘Journeys’ was carved from limestone by local artist Michelle Byrne.

The President was given a Water Carafe designed by Jonathan Legg of Makers & Brothers and handmade by Jerpoint Glass Studio. A simple and elegant Carafe & Glass, two objects for everyday use. Beautiful mouth blown glass, hand finished, still with the makers mark on the base. Objects for daily life.

Rory Leadbetter from Jerpoint Glass was there to meet the President and shake his hand!

The water carafe is available exclusively from Makers & Brothers and Jerpoint Glass Studio shop. For more information contact us on enquiries@jerpointglass.com or +353 50 7724350.
